Provide a fun and challenging way for high school students and university students to see what’s happening in Ottawa in terms of creating sustainable change.

Action

By partnering with several organizations in Ottawa, including the Sierra Youth Coalition, Ottawa Centre EcoDistrict, Ecology Ottawa, HUB Ottawa, The Natural Step Canada, and other locally based organizations and individuals, we want to provide a challenging course for participants to complete. Each challenge is hosted by a partner organization, and completing the challenge results in a certain amount of points. As challenges are held throughout Ottawa participants will be given subsidized public transportation cards, provided by the municipality, which would in turn promote usage of the public transport system. Points can be used to earn prizes at the end of the Race where a networking session will also be held with the collaborators of the event, thus giving the participants the chance to connect with initiatives and get involved with what’s happening.
