Compost Program at Gypsumville School

Vision

To eliminate the organic waste that is going into the classroom garbage bins and to increase the consumption of fresh vegetable produce among students.

Action

The Grade 3 to 5 classrooms set up and ran a school wide Compost Program. Broken down compost material was added to soil that was made available to the students in the school and used to plant a vegetable container. Each student took the container home and by early summer, each family will have a planter full of salad vegetables to share together.
