Vision

Our vision for Canada is… one that includes awareness of where our food comes from and who is responsible for growing and preparing it and the impact these things have on our environment.

Action

Our Good Earth Society members are working hard to create an edible school garden. This year they will be planting blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries in raised beds. Our hope is to harvest the berries and use them for a number of different edible projects including jam making and canning.
We have purchased a tiered planter that will house a variety of micro greens, lettuces, and herbs. We hope to sit together and have a lunch of homegrown salad before we leave for summer break.
Students are responsible for all aspects of this project including the planning, preparing, planting, maintenance, and harvesting of the gardens. Though their actions, they will come to acknowledge and understand the environmental impact of farming and food production.
