Vision

Our vision for Canada is for young people to drive change through idea generation and influence. We want to take on sustainability projects and use idea generation and planning to have an impact.

Action

Our team attended LSF’s Youth Leadership Forum in Halifax in November. From the speakers and workshops, we learned about sustainability topics and skills such as economics, entrepreneurial skills, and how to create change. Learning about these topics made us interested in pursuing Action Projects about the strategies and challenges involved in idea generation. This is important to us because idea generation and influence are key factors in driving change. To improve our skills in these realms, some actions we could take are engaging in sustainability projects, such as biking safety education, that require idea generation and planning in order to be successful and impactful. To get started, we’ll need to talk to our principals and the government, and we’ll have to learn more about human impact and being eco-friendly. We hope that by the end of the school year, we will have undertaken some projects that allow us to practice our brainstorming and planning skills while having a positive overall influence on our environment. An example might be eliminating plastic water bottles and utensils in our school.
