Vision

Our vision for Canada is… to eliminate needless waste in our schools.
We realized that hundreds of whiteboard markers are thrown out every year in our school. The markers are plastic and end up in landfills where they will stay for thousands of years. We wanted to find a way to reduce this waste.

Action

We decided to look for a brand of whiteboard markers that are re-usable. We found a type of marker has has a refillable ink cartridge. We purchased a school set of the markers and showed everyone how to use them. We also purchased lots of refills. Now instead of throwing out a whole marker, we are generating a much smaller amount of waste when we use up the ink cartridge.
