Vision

The vision, from the Harrisfield Environment club, is to reduce the amount of garbage sent to a dump site in a significant way.

Action

Our action was to create a composting program for our school that met the requirements of our board. We used the funds from LSF to purchase green cone digesters and to order bins for food waste. We asked for volunteers from the school to start the program with us. 6 classrooms signed up! We completed the paperwork required by the board. We arranged for the cones to be put together with the help of students and Educational Assistants. We ordered the locates from the utility companies. We are now waiting for approval to dig the holes for the green cones.
