Strive for Gold!

Vision

Our vision for Canada is to have more farming taking place indoors, increase veganism, and have less invasive species. This is important to us/our school community because we can use less resources – which is good for our planet – and be fair to all creatures. We do not want to harm our native species so we should be protecting them from invasive species.

Action

Based on attending the EcoLeague Youth Forum on October 24, 2017, we learned about sustainability topics and skills such as farming indoors, how to conserve water, plant life. We also learned about species at risk, invasive species (how to get rid of them), and veganism. We want to learn more about what sort of native foods we can plant, how we can try to become vegetarian. To fix these issues, some actions we could take are riding bikes to school, plant new products that are good for the environmental, and trying to reduce the consumption of animal products. We hope that by the end of the school year, we will try to get a better medal in our eco-plaque (last year silver), more eco-friendly, use less resources, get more kids involved with hands on activities, and learn lots of new environmental information.
