Vision

Our posters were designed to inform people about typhoons and how climate change is affecting weather all over the world. We wanted people to be aware of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines and to encourage people to contact appropriate organizations to donate money for the relief and rescue efforts there.

Action

As a class, we researched typhoons and how they are formed. We also looked at the ways our climate is changing and creating more powerful storms across the globe. We created posters that we hung around the school and in other businesses around Vermilion. On the posters we had information about the causes and the effects of the typhoon, contact information for organizations collecting donations, and Canada’s role in the relief efforts.
