Vision

Our vision for Canada is a place that manages waste in the most efficient way possible and supports the promotion of sustainable consumption practices.

Action

Our team attended LSF’s Youth Leadership Forum in Halifax in November. From the speakers and workshops, we learned about sustainability topics and skills such as ocean and air pollution, which made us interested in pursuing Action Projects about the issue of waste management. This issue is important to our community because we produce a lot of waste, for example, using plastic water bottles that just get thrown around like they mean nothing. To fix this issue, some actions we could take are speaking to our school and recognizing that it’s our future and we have to start planning for it. We’ll need to talk to the students and staff of our school and learn more about oceans and how polluted they are. We hope that by the end of the school year, we will have changed the attitudes of students towards pollution in the oceans and how to mitigate it.
