Vision

Our vision for Canada is that everyone has clean drinking water. This is important to us/our school community because water is a basic right, everyone needs it in order to survive and live a happy, healthy life.

Action

Based on attending the EcoLeague Youth Forum on October 26, 2017, we learned about sustainability topics and skills such as biking to school and water conservation. After thinking about the issues related to these topics, we became interested in persuing action projects related to protecting our water commons. Some actions we could take today are taking short, 2-minute showers and not buying bottled water. But first, we’ll need to speak with our community and our mayor. We’ll also need to learn more about our community and steps we can take to limit our water usage. We hope that by the end of the school year, we will be more informed citizens on issues surrounding water supply and have put together a project that can contribute to saving our water.
