William C Winegard’s Compost System

Vision

Our Action Team attended LSF’s Youth Leadership Forum. We learned about sustainability topics and skills such as DIY composting and how to make a seed bombs, which made us interested in pursuing an Action Project about the issues of pollinators and water bottles. This is important to us/our school/our community because pollinators are endangered and this directly affect our lives.

Action

To fix these issues, some actions we can take are to not buy plastic water bottles, plant wild flowers, and provide native species with the necessary environmental plants. But first, we’ll need to talk to teachers, parents, friends, and coaches and learn more about nature, pollinators, water, and composting. We hope that by the end of the school year, we will have a pollinator garden and a compost system for our school!
