2nd Annual World Night

Vision

On Thursday, April 28, 2016, Eco-Team will be holding our second annual World Night event at Bayview Secondary School, Richmond Hill, Ontario (http://goo.gl/maps/OE98f) from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

World Night will be open to students, parents, school staff, and members of the Richmond Hill community.

We will include an eco-fair trade bazaar, green tech fair, student booths, and live performances. We will also include raffle ticket prizes, so stay tuned for details!

This event is to engage the entire community and help raise funds for Conservation International (i.e. Nature Is Speaking: http://www.conservation.org/nature-is-speaking/Pages/default.aspx).

The purpose is to encourage students, parents, and other members of the community to be aware of environmental sustainability and fair trade products. This will give them easy accessibility to these endeavors.

Action

Eco-team organized this event with the executives and members by contacting fair trade-certified vendors, youth organizations, and students vendors to set up booths. It shows the patrons the creative artwork made by both local businesses and students, and the crucial causes affecting our society.

We aimed to raise money for Conservation International, since they double every dollar donated. Thus, students could purchase raffle tickets or food from the Organic Cafe.

We invited the students and staff of Bayview S.S., as well as community members in Richmond Hill.

We also invited performers – dancers, singers, instrument-players – to provide entertainment for the patrons. It really brought the entire community together for one night.
