A Children’s Garden
Our goal is to expand the garden to encompass an adjoining piece of ground on our school site. We wish to grow a a more largely varied assortment of plants and shrubs, at the same time investigating landscape gardening.
As an education through the arts elementary school we seek to integrate the arts into all facets of our learning. We undertook to begin a school garden in the 2012/2013 school year. This garden drew the interest of both parents and students. we had about 30 students enrolled in our garden club. Over the summer months parents maintained the watering of our school garden. This year the garden has become not only a place of interest for students to explore. It has also been used as a place of learning. Eg., science, media, and visual art .
