Vision

Henderson Avenue’s Adopt-A-Plant Program allowed k-8 students to grow and care for plants, understanding the importance of environmental stewardship.

Action

By growing and caring for plants as part of an ecosystem, students will realize that plants have a positive impact (i.e. air quality, psychological benefits, aesthetics) in their local environment (classroom), and also have much of the same
impacts on a larger scale (i.e. forests, parks). The long term vision of this project, lies in understanding the importance of environmental stewardship as it relates to issues around deforestation and negative changes to the water cycle.
