Vision

To create a garden indoors to grow vegetables and herbs for our school cafeteria. We wanted more healthy food for all students.

Action

Researched indoor gardens, lights/hydroponic growing kits, and seeds that would work in our school. Planted seeds and began to watch them grow with guidance from staff and local garden center.

Reflection & Celebration

All students in the school have enjoyed watching the plants grow and it fostered good conversations about where our food comes from. We are still waiting on our first harvest for our cafeteria. It was a great experience and the school is excited to expand our garden (both inside and out) and learn more about different plants.
