Azul y Verde Eco-Festival

Vision

Our vision for Canada is one where economic development is not in conflict with conservation. We see a Canada where people have a deep connection to the land and sea, and are able to collaborate to create a conservation minded economy. We see the celebration of local and First Nations culture and tradition as central to this vision.

Action

We will be organizing an eco-paddling festival in July of this summer. Bringing together local conservation groups, the Passamaquoddy First Nation, and the local fisheries from Deer Island and the surrounding area. Using paddling, yoga, and workshops, we hope to begin a conversation about the future of the area. The public will be invited to experience the area, and strengthen their connections to this special place.

We hope to establish the foundation for a sustainable future for the area. This includes environmental conservation, social and cultural inclusion and celebration, as well as a sustainable economic future for the local residents.
