B.A.S.E. Daycare Butterfly Project
Vision
As our society comes to terms with the environmental crisis, the education and well-being of children play an integral role in the shaping and survival of future generations. To make sure the right to a safe and clean environment is being upheld, children must learn sustainable habits that will not only affect their well-being but the wellness of the natural world around them.
To address this large-scale issue head-on, B.A.S.E Daycare has formed a department consisting of individuals with expertise in farming, landscaping, and environmental education. Over the last decade, we have built over 20 schoolyard gardens. Our focus for the next 1-3 years will be pollinator gardens, maintenance of hydroponic towers and our food literacy program while committing to the upkeep of our current gardens. For this project, our focus was on native pollinators.
