Bees Wax Wraps
Our beehives are central to our school and much of what we do revolves around taking care of our bees! We have planted trees and started flower gardens to sustain our two bee colonies. In addition to improving our school yard we also wanted to reduce the waste we produce.
We used the beeswax that was harvested from the hives to make reusable fabric wax wraps. We sold the wraps along with our honey to encourage the use of a reusable product and help fund our bees.
Reflection & Celebration
Our sale was a great success and our community was very supportive! It’s great see our students using the wax wraps in their lunches for carrot sticks, apple slices, and sandwiches!
