Berry Healthy Gardens
Vision
We envision a thriving, sustainable school community where students lead with purpose, grow food with care, and nourish both people and the planet. Through our food forest, we cultivate not only blueberries but also a deeper connection to the land, to each other, and to a more food-secure future.
Action
– Planned and designed a food forest with sustainability in mind.
– Built raised garden beds using mostly local lumber and peat.
– Planted over 20 blueberry bushes along a garden path.
– Researched and learned about the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially those related to food security and sustainability.
– Developed individual action projects, many focused on food sustainability.
– Aimed to feed the school (450+ students) with harvested blueberries through smoothies and muffins.
Reflection & Celebration
We’ll wait for berries then celebrate, with cake!
