Vision

To enrich the natural habitat of our native species and provide a diverse, healthy ecosystem that we can share. To promote understanding and awareness of the issues and concerns with regards to dwindling habitats and diminishing biodiversity. To engage other youth in simple positive practices that will continue to contribute to a healthy environment and the respect of it.

Action

Our project was a collaboration between the elementary school Green Team and the secondary school wood shop class. We had a birdhouse template from a local conservation area and selected a few other styles of houses suited to local birds. The older students were able to help with the creation of the birdhouses and the younger students could assemble and decorate. The Green Team then will decide where to place them around the school to provide shelter for local birds. We also asked the secondary school students to make a couple of bird feeders for our front yard.
