Vision

For our elementary students to take an active role in growing and understanding the value of the environment and farming which plays a critical role in our community.

Action

We created raised community garden beds which are maintained by families over the summer and by our classrooms during the school year. Students planted the beds and participated in created the gardens. In the fall, students and families harvest the food plants and use them to create a meal that they can eat. Our community takes pride in the garden and this initiative creates authentic ways for us to take our teaching outside.
