Vision

We had already created a small garden at our school. We have planted some different foods that are used within the building for the last few years, but as these are raised garden beds we knew the soil would need to be fertilized soon. We wanted to add some compost bins around the school to start reducing food scrap waste while simultaneously creating a natural fertilizer.

Action

We purchased 2 outdoor composters and 6 compost collection bins to be used within the school. This will help ensure our garden flourishes and reduce the amount of food that ends up in the landfill.

Reflection & Celebration

This is a great opportunity for our students to envision a change that needed to be made and see it come to fruition. The students who are responsible for our green team have had a lasting impact on our school environment!
