Vision

We created Doon’s Climate Action Challenge – a variety of environmental awareness activities, meant to inspire environmental action amongst intermediate students.

Action

The nine challenges were created by the 8/7 class for their peers. They involved different topics including sources of energy, to wildflower pollinators, to water use, to recycling, and ecosystems. The challenges were presented in different (engaging!) ways to ensure students had variety, choice, and engagement. Homeroom classrooms completed the challenges flexibly within their classrooms with checkpoints/submissions to ensure they were completed and that the objectives were met.

Reflection & Celebration

A friendly competition was established between homerooms, with the top 3 classes announced, winning a locally owned and locally sourced prize.

Students reflected on the number of students that participated, the submissions of challenges, and the inspiration/excitement amongst students to learn.
