Vision

We wish to gain a greater influence within the decision processes of the provincial government in regard to education. Under the current system our age restricts our voice and ability to have meaningful impact within the government body. Although we may be young, our views and insight into the current (high school) educational environment encompass a perspective which those who are not students simply cannot effectively comprehend. We picture a future where students’ age does not restrict their voice.

Action

Collectively, high school students from across Alberta have begun the process of designing a system that will provide opportunities for students’ voices to be heard, as well as provide the government with first-hand perspectives and information regarding the conduct and nature of secondary educational institutions. We hope to incorporate this design into the provincial government to make education more meaning and impactful for all students.
