For young people to be more engaged in federal and provincial elections, most importantly by voting!

Action

For the fall 2011 Ontario Provincial election, I started an initiative to give presentations in classes in the Faculty of Environment at the University of Waterloo. The presentations were to direct students’ attention to the environmental positions and policies of the four main political parties, so that if the environment was the main issue of focus for a student, they could easier see the issues that mattered to them. I created a chart which outlined the policies of each party and handed them out during each class. I gave a brief presentation and directed people to a website where they could find their polling location. I worked with the Environment Students Society to give as many presentations as possible in the two weeks leading up to the election.
