Vision

Our vision as the Water Saviors is to educate people about plastic pollution and how our daily activities can affect our Health and future, if we want better living conditions, we must change our actions, or it could not only affect us but our children and grandchildren.

Action

First, we presented a PowerPoint about Water Pollutionto a grade six class, and they played our Kahoot that we made. Students were engaged and enjoyed learning facts about water pollution. After that we made posters so people could learn about the effects of plastic pollution. Our last action was that our class went along the banks of our Wolastoq River to do a river clean up. The river was high so we could not go near the water. We collected one full bag of garbage. This was a revelation as we saw things: cigarette butts, plastic bags, and plastic bottles.

Reflection & Celebration

Reflection: We learned about plastic pollution and how it affects us and our environment. We also learned about how important it is to inform people about the effects of plastic pollution, how it could negatively affect our health, and living conditions
Celebration:.We will have a Film Festival at our school between May 28th- May 30th in which classes from grades six through eight can sign up and bring a class to watch our Water Docs videos that we created. We will have a few students who were involved in Water Docs there to facilitate the showing of the videos. We will have a feedback form for them to fill out afterwards and there will be time for our student leaders to answer any questions from the classes.
