Vision

To reduce the amount of food waste created in the school.
To better utilize recycling of food containers.

Action

We purchased compost containers for each classroom. The food waste was collected and brought to a local farm for pigs to eat.
We also purchased more recycling containers in each classroom to collect plastics from pudding, juice boxes, and yogurt containers.
We labelled the containers and made sure to empty them multiple times a week.

Reflection & Celebration

We had a K-grade 6 assembly to kick off the program. We were told that the pigs really enjoyed the table scraps.
