Garden Club

To encourage environmental stewardship among our students and provide them with opportunities to learn and practice environmental sustainable development.

As a part of ESD Committee at our school, we practice environment friendly tasks such as recycling and composting. To incorporate environmental stewardship and to encourage our students to understand the importance of growing their own food, I decided to start an in-class Garden Club. During our garden club time, we explored: different seeds, best soil mixtures to grow seeds, how deep the seeds should be planted, what environmental conditions help the seeds to grow and we compared the growth patterns of plants growing in natural light vs. the plants growing under the plant light. We are hoping to extend the opportunity to be a of garden club for the whole school next year.
