Great Gulp Challenge
Our vision for Canada is raise awareness about pollutants the enter water systems and help improve environmental sustainability.
We had several ambitions. A group of grade 8 students set up a blind water taste test asking if students and teachers can distinguish bewteen tap and bottled water. We asked which they preferred. We also created an art installation out of plastic bottle caps salvaged from the school and community. Throughout various times of the process of the project, we made announcements, games and parent communication to help raise awareness.
Reflection & Celebration
The school showed over all engagement by trying to salvage caps, participating the the taste test (e.g., taste testing, asking questions) and interacting with art installation (e.g., looking at it, trying to find their cap they donated, reading it, touching it).
