Grow With FRO
Vision
Our vision is to engage the school and community in learning about the importance of growing sustainable food that doesn’t need packaging or rely on a supermarket.
To grow our own vegetables.
Action
We learned about the importance of growing sustainable food that doesn’t need packaging or rely on a supermarket. We learned about how to grow food, planned and planted a vegetable garden. Michelle Bennett, from Burlington Community Gardens came to talk to Frontenac’s Eco Club about growing food and gardening in your community. She talked about micro-greens, what grows in our climate and how and when to start growing plants from seeds and the spacing of these plants.
We planned, grew and then planted vegetables in our raised garden bed.
Reflection & Celebration
Planting is easy and fun. When you plant and take care of your own vegetables, they are more healthy for you and the environment and also taste much better than store bought.
