Vision

We have learned about Food sustainability in our Eco Club and we wanted to share the learning with the rest of the school and community. We thought that creating a community garden would be a good idea to show people how easy it is to grow your own food. We decided to start with an herb garden.

Action

The Eco Crew (Eco Leaders in grades 5 to 8) and The Eco Sprouts (Eco reps in grades 1-3) prepared our garden beds by weeding, adding soil, adding mulch, and planting herbs. We will care for it during the school year and invite neighbours to care for it through the summer. We would like to have a pizza making party to use some of the herbs with our club. We will invite the community to use the herbs throughout the summer.

We will celebrate with homemade pizza featuring our herbs!
