Vision

Our vision is to showcase the ability to grow healthy food inside throughout the year.

Action

This is our third year receiving funding and each year we have expanded our indoor growing capacity. This year we purchased the Canadian designed Plantaform Smart Indoor Garden. We now have access to a non-circulating hydroponic system, an aquaponic set up, a soil based grow tower, and the Plantaform fog smart garden. This has allowed students to see a variety of ways they can produce food year-round inside at different levels of financial investment. This is important becasue we cater to a diverse student population, some of whom struggle with food security and this gives them ways to produce their own food at home, with support from school.

Reflection & Celebration

While it was largely successful we had a few hiccups. We could not access the full range of features because the school board blocked access and we had a major infestation of aphids and white flies. Despite this, it was one of our most successful growing years.
