John F. Ross’ Sustainability Project
Our vision for Canada is for students to be informed and involved in sustainability issues.
On October 13, 2016 our action team participated in LSF’s Youth Leadership Forum in Orillia where we attended workshops and learned about stormwater management, creativity, water conservation, and alternative energy sources.
We’re going to explore action projects about informing our student population and increasing reusable water bottle use.
With the help of our teachers, principals, and other schools, we will apply for grants and engage more students in the Eco-club to take on sustainability issues in our school. We will use tools such as surveys, feedback, personal reflections, and observation to determine if our actions are having a positive effect.
