L’eau dans ma vie

Vision

We are looking to become a disposable water bottle free school. We feel that the impact of this waste on the world is tremendous. We want to be stewards of the environment in the area of water conservation, prevention of waste related to water and protecting the area watershed.

Action

Students in grade 8 participated in the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup to kick off this action project. They acted as stewards of the environment and cleaned up Forty Mile Creek (a creek in the local community). We then had a school-wide assembly to showcase this action and communicate the importance of water conservation and the prevention of waste related to disposable water bottles. To help kick-off our campaign for a disposable water bottle free school, we purchased reusable water bottles and provided them to students at a subsidized cost. We will also kicked-off our waste-free lunch challenge and Terracycle campaigns during this assembly to reduce waste in the school created by school lunches.
