Newtown Elementary School Garden
Our vision is to create an outdoor learning space where all students can go to observe pollinators and see the importance that bees have to our environment. We would like to also bring awareness to where our food comes from and the process and hard work it takes to go from the garden to the table.
We planted strawberries, raspberries and blueberries in raised beds. Our hope is to care for and harvest them as our weather gets warmer. We have also purchased some pollinators that will allow us to observe the habitats of the bee’s and the many benefits they have to our environment. Through these actions, they will learn and understand the environmental impact of farming and the important role that bee’s play in our ecosystem.
