Non-Point Source Pollution in the Great Lakes

Trying to get Lake Erie, along with other Great Lakes, back into an oligotrophic or mesotrophic state.
Action
Extensive research undertaken to find out the reason as to why these lakes have become an ideal environment for the production of algae growth and how to stop the spread of these algal blooms. Non-point phosphorus sources would have to be detected and monitored in order to try and reduce the amount of phosphorus getting into the water bodies
