Vision

Our vision was to instill in our students the Catholic Social Teaching of being Stewards of God’s Creation.

Action

My Grade 4 French Immersion students lead our project which included two actions from our Eco Plan: Tree Planting & Maintenance and Grow a Food Garden from our EcoSchools program. With the assistance of our school’s landscaper, we purchased a Japanese Maple Sapling and planted it in the alcove to the right of our main entrance. We also put our grant towards buying materials to support the Children’s Garden section in the Project Share Garden next to our school. Project SHARE of Niagara Falls provides essential support services that improve the lives of Niagara Falls individuals and families in need. As a non-profit charitable organization, Project SHARE has been providing emergency food and support services to residents of Niagara Falls for more than 30 years. The acronym SHARE represents support, housing, awareness, resources and emergency. There was leftover soil and money in the budget so with this remaining soil and money we planted Day Lilies in the planters on our school grounds.
