Vision

To create a school Peace Garden as a legacy sustainable gift to the school that will support the environment as well as promote peace amongst communities that have been fractured by oppressive practices, appropriation, war, violence and racism.

Action

The grade 7 & 8 classes had chosen to create a Peace Garden in the front of the school as a legacy sustainable gift back to the school. The garden has meaning to the 500 children of the school as well as the 50 new students who joined the school in the last month alone from war-torn Ukraine, which had lead to many serious discussions among the students. The garden is the first welcoming sight to anyone coming to the school and serves as a symbol to unite the community and offers the land back to those who seek to edify, grow, support and plant… PEACE… piece by piece.
