Vision

Our school was named the Greenest School in Canada in 2015, is Platinum Certified with EcoSchools Canada and received Gold OPHEA for our work with Healthy Living and Environmental Stewardship. One of our projects is planting a Carolinian urban forest around our school. We have been planting trees each year. This year we received funding form EcoLeague to plant 6 more trees. The students and staff are grateful to our community partners who support us and believe in our vision to make our world a greener and healthier place.

Action

We selected Carolinian native trees from a local Canadian supplier. Students planted 3 White Pine and 3 Blue Nootka False Cypress this year.

Reflection & Celebration

We are excited to see our urban forest growing in our school community. We are proud of our students leading in the community, especially in their environmental stewardship efforts. We have been recognized on many occasions for our work in environmental sustainability and have obtained Platinum EcoSchools Certification for over a decade.
