Vision

We wanted to make our school grounds greener. Our vision is to create learning outdoor classrooms by building raised garden beds for our students to take ownership, learn from and grow plants. We want to partner with our secondary feeder school to help us make our idea become a reality!

Action

Graduates from our elementary school took the leadership at our local secondary school. Graduated students built two 8′ by 4′ beds and we had the soil given to us by a parent in our school community. The Eco Club and grade 8 students filled our beds, planted seeds as well as seedlings to have the beds grow to life!

Reflection & Celebration

We are so excited to have finally started our garden project. We are planning on adding two more beds next year and hoping to incorporate an outdoor classroom in this plan.
