Raised Garden Beds / Adopt a Plant / Composting


Our vision is for students become more aware of the impact they have on the community and the world as both consumers and leaders. By involving students in our Green Team they are becoming problem solvers and creating solutions for a sustainable future. Student develop leadership skills and turn knowledge into action as they share with their peers and community.


Students are responsible for both vermicomposting and bi-weekly composting. 2200 lbs of kitchen waste was diverted from the landfill to a 3 bin composting system. Students started tomatoes from seed that were later planted into 5 gallon buckets. 30 students took home plants as part of the Adopt a Plant Program. Excess plants were sold to the community to help support future projects. A raised garden bed was built and 30 raspberry shrubs are now planted on school property.
