Vision

Our vision for Canada is… that everyone stops purchasing plastic bottled water. It wastes resources and depletes our local groundwater supply. We have safe, clean drinking water and we should encourage the use of our tap water and use reusable water bottles. We would like the school to stop selling plastic bottled water in our cafeteria.

Action

Selling reusable water bottles in the school, we had two really large campaigns during World Water Week and Earth Week. Students who purchased the reusable water bottles were rewarded with free refills on many Fridays to promote this use.

Reflection & Celebration

Some students are using the reusable water bottles, but there are also students using plastic bottled water. We will continue this project through the following years. We hope that the next contract for our cafeteria bans the plastic bottles.
