Single Use Waste Reduction
Our vision for Canada is to be more aware of our consumption of single use products and make more sustainable choices.
Our project has two short term goals and one long term goal. 1. We are working with the renovations of our cafeteria to provide a more efficient, user friendly waste/recycling/composting system. 2. We are tracking the consumption of single use plates, cutlery etc and whether they are “to stay” to ‘to go” from our cafeteria. We would like to provide a reusable option for those items that are staying. 3. We would like to have a compositing system in place for the organic waste produced by the culinary arts, home economics and child care programs.
