Special Education Students Champion Waste Practices
Vision
Our vision for Canada is to see leadership in diversity. All people can make a difference.
Action
Special education students champion composting and support environmental issues by turning waste into food. Having the special needs class lead the composting also helps students to recognize abilities of all individuals within the school and the community.
Reflection & Celebration
This project engages all students and the larger community by building social responsibility skills by collaborating towards a larger goal – reducing waste. Students learned that leaders can come from all places and that we, collectively need to do more for our environment. This is a project that will have a lasting impact on the school and the community.
