St. Mark’s Pollinator Garden
Vision
Students at our school are providing opportunities to continue the learning around biodiversity, invasive species, reducing waste, and moving away from activities that directly impact or cause climate change.
Action
Students created the ideas and planning around building a pollinator garden after learning about the importance of biodiversity, native plants, invasive species, and climate change. They complete raised beds to plant 10 species of native flowering plants, built birdhouses, and continue to develop plans to promote local native bee and insect populations.
Reflection & Celebration
After 8 weeks of learning, planning, planting seeds, digging soil, moving border materials and cutting and building birdhouses, student can reflect on a future if continued learning and successful project!
