Vision

We wanted to organize a sustainable painting night focused on ethical consumption and creation. We wanted to show people that you can engage in your hobbies sustainably and ethically. We also wanted to educate people on injustices within production lines and the harm major companies and overconsumption have on our environment and our people.

Action

We decided to host an event featuring all homemade, natural dyes (made out of local flowers) and purchase all materials second hand where applicable. Participants were able to join us and paint a picture of their own, while we lead discussions on ethical consumption and environmental injustices.

Reflection & Celebration

Overall, we are very happy with how our project turned out. We were able to engage participants in meaningful discussions, and increase public awareness on the environmental cost of production of many of our home items. We were also very pleased with how our natural paints turned out and we will be making an instruction manual for Green Venture’s Nature Kids program.
