Vision

Our vision for Canada is to see even more young leaders who have project planning skills and use them towards implementing sustainability initiatives.

Action

Our team attended LSF’s Youth Leadership Forum in Halifax in November. From the speakers and workshops, we learned about sustainability topics and skills such as leadership, project planning, and recycling. This made us interested in pursuing Action Projects about recycling and composting, which are important to our school because we are lacking a good recycling program and would benefit from this. To fix these issues, actions we could take are starting recycling and composting campaigns and creating a community garden. To get started, we’ll need to talk to a teacher (for supervision) and our principal, and learn more about starting the garden and how to maintain it. We hope that by the end of the school year, we will have a garden accessible to our school and surrounding community.
