Our vision is to reduce our school lunch waste!

Action

Our action project focused on addressing the environmental impact of snack wrapper waste at our school. As a school we have a library lounge that sells individually wrapped snacks like granola bars and chips. We decided to order a TerraCycle snack wrapper waste box, a sustainable solution that allows us to recycle typically non-recyclable snack packaging. The project is directly related to sustainability as it focuses on reducing waste and promoting responsible recycling. Snack wrappers are typically made of mixed materials that are not recyclable through Winnipeg recycling , meaning they often end up in landfills. By using the TerraCycle program, we’re diverting waste from landfills.
