Vision

The goal was to raise awareness for Public Works and the Sustainable Development Goals through art in our local community.
The bonus was that the QR code for LSF is also available for park goers to get more information about sustainable education.

Action

The two kindergarten classes and the grade one class were involved in a partnership with the Town of Caledon to paint trash cans that would go back into our local communities. The trash cans will be put in local parks in the area. The art represents the things that Public Works does for our community. The cans also show a couple of Sustainable Development Goals that the Public Works Department is helping with as well as a QR code for Learning for a Sustainable Future so that people can educate themselves about educating for a sustainable future.

Reflection & Celebration

We talked about what we hoped would happen when people see the garbage cans.
We will follow up with visits to the parks that the trash cans are put in.
We hope that the Town of Caledon sees the Sustainable Development Goals on the trash cans and starts to think about adding them to other areas in the Town.
