Waldorf Pollinator Garden

Vision

We envision a community deeply rooted in environmental stewardship – one that not only values the natural world but actively works to protect and restore it. Through education, engagement, and sustainable practices, we aim to cultivate a lasting commitment to climate resilience and ecological well-being.

Action

We have brought this vision to life through hands-on educational programs, engaging community workshops, and the creation of beautifully carved and painted yellow cedar garden signage. These signs highlight local native plants, proudly displaying both their common and Indigenous names, fostering deeper cultural and ecological understanding. Together, these initiatives have educated and inspired participants of all ages to recognize environmental threats and take tangible action – particularly through the use of native plants – to care for and protect our shared ecosystems.

Reflection & Celebration

To know, to care, to act—this is the beginning of the journey.

As graduating student Nick reflected:
“Through learning and connection, we’ve taken meaningful steps toward environmental stewardship and community engagement. But this is not the end. The work we’ve begun must be nurtured, tended, and carried forward.”

Sustaining this momentum will require continued commitment, care, and collaboration. As we end the school year, we pause to celebrate all we’ve accomplished and to reaffirm our dedication to the path ahead. We extend heartfelt gratitude to those who have guided and supported us along the way: the Butterflyway Rangers, the Whole Kids Bee Grant, the District of North Vancouver, The Coast Salish Plant Nursery, Grandma Bonnie, and the dedicated gardening crew. Your wisdom, care, and partnership have helped this work take root – and grow.
